On Monday the 22nd of September some of the year 5 Sparkenhoe children came to our school to learn about and make a Keyhole Garden with some of the year 5's in our school. A women came into school to do an assembly about the Keyhole Garden and Send a Cow campaign. They got put in the hall and learnt how to build one after assembly. They had to bring a pair of wellies and a water proof. Then you had to mix manure and soil with a shovel and put it in a bucket. While that was happerning two groups went around asking questions to the people who were doing it. The questions were asking what you would want to grow in the garden. They planted some radishes.

Trip To Warning Zone
A couple of weeks ago the whole of year 6 went to Warning Zone.
We went by coach to the heart of Leicester on Frog Island .
There are 8 zones I think the best zone is fire at home because you get to crawl through a house on fire before entering a world of road safety.

WARNING ZONE
The Year 6's went to Warning Zone on a Monday about 2 weeks ago. Both classes had a wonderful time. 6JO went around the 8 zones which were in the morning and 6SP went to the E-safety area then after lunch both classes swapped. the 8 zones included building sites, electricity, fire, road safety (by car, pedestrians, cyclists) alcohol, risk, personal safety, railways and water. The E-safety zone was all about knowing who your talking to on the internet and knowing how to stay safe if you do talk to people on the internet and you've never met them face to face. Also cyber bulling and bullying. All the staff were wonderful and friendly to everyone and helped us all learn a lot and make it an amazing experience. So now we know what to do if we are in a tricky situation or don't know how to deal with things like bullying.

YEAR 6 FOOTBAL MATCH!!!
On the 13th of October 11 children took part in a breath-taking football match against Sherrier. Both sides played very well but Fleckney school came out on top and one the game 9-1. The Fleckney school team represented the school very well with 4 goals from Liam and Isaac and a superb goal from Callum but conceded an unlucky goal but kept going and won the game. All of the adults were cheering Fleckney on and a great selection from the manager, Mr Ager. In the end Fleckney won the game and had a great time. Well done Fleckney!!

Geography Quiz
Last Monday a group of year 6 went to Robert Smyth Acadamy to compete in a fun geography 'Where in the World?' quiz. One of our teams came 3rd and the other did well too. This experience was great and we got to compete against Church Langton primary school, Foxton primary school and lots more schools. We all really enjoyed our experience and learned a lot about around the world. My favourite round was called "Where in the world?" In this round we were shown pictures of buildings around the world and had to guess where they were. Other rounds included where the animals listed were from and another was about languages. We all had a great time and would love to do somthing like that again.

Explorer Academy year six
On Tuesday 8th of September, a man called Simon came into our school to talk to us about mountains, polar and more. This was a great opportunity for year six to learn. Another reason why it was good was because we learnt a lot but it was very fun at the same time. Also,we were allowed to try on some clothes which you would wear if you went to the polar or to a mountains; this was another very fun aspect of it. I think that this was very fun and I think that the future year sixes will very much enjoy it.

Explorer Academy!
On Tuesday the 15th of September, the Year 6 pupils were joined by a visitor from Explorer Academy who talked to them about being an explorer and all of the extreme conditions they have to cope with. The day was fun and highly informative and I'm sure that everyone (pupils, teachers and all) would agree that it was definitely a great success. Working together as a team was also part of the fun as the children were split into small groups and had the chance to co-operate with people that they wouldn't often get the opportunity to spend much time with. With the experience including activities ranging from dressing up as an Arctic explorer and learning how to survive in the Rainforest to looking at pictures of frostbite and even inventing a new species of animal there was never a boring moment to be had. The children were all very sad at the end of the day when the time had come to say goodbye.
